Katherine Heigl is open about growing up in "a White bubble." She also shares the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adopted children that are multiracial. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane" spoke to the media that it was not important the color of her skin for her. But after having a conversation with her adopted Korean American older sister she realized the difference in the way people took care of her. I inquired of Meg if when she was she was out with her parents she was treated with a specific manner and when out alone, she got a completely different kind of treatment. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl revealed to Parents that she realized how foolish she was. Her anger grew, and she decided to make use of her anger to assist her daughters who were adopted by her. Heigl has a four year old son who is married to her 13 year old wife, Josh Kelley. Their daughter was adopted by them Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide, 8, who is Black and was adopted in 2012.
